An evening created to bring sailors, members, friends and guests together as we mark the shortest day of the year and look ahead to the return of longer sailing days across Port Stephens. Set against the atmosphere of a winter evening by the water, the clubhouse will come alive with music, conversation, sea stories and a touch of maritime mischief. Guests are invited to enjoy a relaxed BYO BBQ dinner while live acoustic music carries through the evening, leading into spirited sea shanties and maritime favourites. The evening also features the Skippers’ Sea Shanty Countdown, where crews and landlubbers alike are encouraged to raise their voices and compete for crowd applause and a fitting prize. Hosted by renowned wine educator Virginia Jacobs, the evening will explore eight selected wines, including both red and white varieties with detailed commentary on style, structure, tasting techniques and wine characteristics.
