How we remember Jack
Jack was a very popular and active sailing member of our Club. Tragically he lost his life in a car accident on Nelson Bay Road.
We remember him each year by conducting a race on the Saturday nearest to his birthday.
The race always includes our Shoal Bay mark which is near his favourite watering hole…the Shoal Bay Pub!
His family always attend this day and we invite all sailors to participate by either joining the race or just follow the fleet and cruise.
On one memorial occasion the Club purchased an Open Bic Training Dinghy for the Port Stephens Sailing and Aquatic Club. They use it in their Junior Training Fleet in accordance with one of the provisions of the Deed of Gift.
The Deed of Gift is framed and hung in the yacht club Clubhouse.
